About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the educational and personal development of our primary school students, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Main Responsibilities
- Classroom Support:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with specific learning needs
- Help prepare and maintain classroom resources and displays
- Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Student Support:
- Encourage and motivate students to participate in learning activities
- Assist students with physical needs, including personal care when necessary
- Promote positive behavior and manage challenging behavior effectively
- Support students’ social and emotional development
- Assessment and Monitoring:
- Observe and record students’ progress and achievements
- Contribute to the assessment and review processes for students with SEND
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and support provided
- Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
- Liaise with parents and external agencies as required
- Attend and contribute to parent-teacher meetings when appropriate
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities
- Safeguarding and Health & Safety:
- Adhere to the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures
- Report any concerns about student welfare to the appropriate staff member
- Ensure the safety of students during activities and transitions
- Assist with the administration of first aid when necessary
