1:1 Teaching Assistant for Year 4 Pupil with SEMH Needs

Location: Worthing, West Sussex

Salary: £83 per day

Pink Tile Education is pleased to represent a charming primary school located just outside Worthing town centre. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time, long-term role with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs, assisting them in their educational and personal development.
• Implement individualized learning strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO and class teacher.
• Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment to promote the pupil’s social and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and adapt resources and activities to meet the pupil’s specific needs.
• Monitor and record the pupil’s progress, providing regular feedback to the SENCO and class teacher.
• Support the pupil in managing their emotions and behaviors, promoting positive relationships and self-regulation skills.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
• Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, are preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions from the class teacher and SENCO.
• Enhanced DBS check and up-to-date safeguarding training are mandatory.
