Learning Support Assistant (SEMH School) – Horsham

Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Horsham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary: £102.68 per day (temp through Pink Tile); £22,200 – £23,500 per annum once permanent (dependent on experience)

We are seeking passionate and resilient Learning Support Assistants to join our supportive and welcoming SEMH school in Horsham. This school caters to students aged 5-18 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional learning needs.

What We Are Looking For:

• Someone resilient, compassionate, energetic, fun and thick-skinned

• Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, including verbal abuse and physical incidents

• Willingness to use positive behaviour management strategies and engage in de-escalation techniques, including physical intervention when required

• A candidate who can build trusting relationships with students and help them develop essential life and learning skills

Key Information:

• First 12 weeks: You will typically finish at 3:30 PM, but you are paid until 4:30 PM and may occasionally be asked to stay.

• After 3-month probation: You will be assigned an on-call day off once a week, while maintaining a full-time salary. You may be asked to come in occasionally.

• Salary: £102.68 per day while temping through Pink Tile; £22,200 – £23,500 per annum once permanent (discussed at the interview stage based on experience).

Interview Process:

• 30-minute trial in a classroom – observe and interact with pupils

• Tour of the school

• Formal interview

Start Date: ASAP, but we will wait for notice periods.
