Secondary Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with their learning across various subjects, including providing one-to-one assistance where needed.

• Assist teachers with the delivery of lessons and classroom management.

• Help students who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.

• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment and encourage students to engage with their learning.

• Liaise with teaching staff to monitor student progress and well-being.

• Support the emotional and social development of students, helping them to overcome challenges and build confidence.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working within a support, care, or education setting, particularly in one-to-one support or with SEN/SEMH students, is preferred.

• A DBS on the Update Service or the willingness to obtain one.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff.

• A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach when working with students, especially those with additional learning needs.

• A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop in the role.
