School Support Assistant

We’re looking for a SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) School Support Assistant to join a specialist setting that supports children and young people with additional behavioural and emotional needs. This is a full-time role, starting on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent for the right person.

💼 About the Role:

• Support children in a small class settings or on a 1:1 basis

• Help students navigate daily routines, learning, and emotional regulation

• Work alongside experienced teachers and therapists

• Use structure, boundaries, and routine to support progress

• Be a consistent, calm role model in challenging situations

🔍 Ideal Experience (but not essential):

We welcome candidates with experience in:

• SEMH, PRUs or alternative provision

• Behavioural support roles

• Youth work or pastoral support

• SEN Teaching Assistant roles

• Residential childcare or supported living

🔄 We’re also keen to hear from people with transferable skills from roles such as:

• Support Worker / Care Assistant

• Youth Mentor / Youth Worker

• Sports Coach

• Mental Health Support Roles

• Military or Emergency Services

• Health & Social Care

• Teaching / Nursery Assistant

✅ Must-Have:

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential due to school location and off-site activities
