Teaching Assistant – SEMH School (Littlehampton)
📍 Location: Littlehampton
🕒 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am – 3:30pm (Tuesdays until 5:00pm)
💷 Pay: £94.71 per day
📅 Start Date: September 2025

Are you experienced in supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs? Are you confident, resilient, and passionate about helping boys thrive in a specialist setting?

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Littlehampton, supporting boys with complex needs. This full-time position is ideal for someone with a strong background in SEND and SEMH, particularly in managing dysregulated behaviour and implementing de-escalation strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in both classroom and therapeutic environments

  • Use de-escalation and proactive behaviour management strategies

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

  • Promote independence, engagement, and emotional regulation

  • Assist with daily routines and learning activities

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH/SEND needs

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm, active, and supportive way

  • Physically and emotionally resilient

  • Able to work effectively in a team of like-minded, high-energy staff

  • Available full-time from September
