SEND Primary Teaching Assistant – Crawley – KS1/KS2 Autism Support

Start Date: September 2025
Location: Crawley
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
Pay: £95.82 per day
Contract: 12-week temp-to-perm via Pink Tile Education

We are working with a brilliant specialist primary school in Crawley that supports children with Autism, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties. The school has a calm, positive and well-structured atmosphere where every child is known and valued.

This role involves supporting a small class of children aged 5–11, many of whom are non-verbal or have significant communication needs. You’ll work alongside experienced SEN teachers and therapists, helping children develop the skills they need to thrive.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Supporting classroom learning with visual, sensory and practical resources

  • Helping children communicate using PECS, Makaton, or AAC

  • Assisting with transitions and emotional regulation

  • Supporting personal care and feeding when needed

  • Promoting independence and celebrating progress, no matter how small

What We’re Looking For:

  • A warm, caring person who genuinely enjoys supporting children

  • Some experience with Autism, non-verbal pupils, or communication needs

  • Strong teamwork and excellent communication skills

  • Someone confident, patient and calm under pressure
