SEND Teaching Assistant – Burgess Hill – Secondary Autism Provision (Low Complex Needs)

Start Date: September 2025
Location: Just outside Burgess Hill (driver preferred)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Pay: £102.68 per day
Contract: 12-week temp-to-perm via Pink Tile Education

Are you experienced in supporting young people with Autism and passionate about helping them thrive?
This beautiful and well-resourced school near Burgess Hill has a dedicated autism provision for secondary-aged pupils. The setting is calm, spacious, and welcoming, with a strong focus on emotional regulation, independence, and tailored support.

Perfect for someone who is confident de-escalating behaviour and can redirect students with empathy and consistency.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supporting autistic pupils in the classroom and through therapeutic sessions

  • De-escalating and redirecting negative behaviour

  • Assisting with communication strategies and social skills development

  • Working closely with SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral staff

  • Creating a safe, nurturing learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting young people with autism

  • Ability to remain calm and consistent under pressure

  • A driver is preferred due to location, but not essential

  • Strong emotional intelligence and great teamwork skills
