Are you passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life?
Do you have experience supporting individuals with additional needs — whether children, adults, or the elderly — and want to transfer those valuable skills into an educational setting?
We’re currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Support Mentor to work closely with a child with additional needs in a welcoming and inclusive school. This full-time, long-term opportunity is ideal for someone with a calm, patient approach and a genuine interest in supporting child development and inclusive education.

Encouraging emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour
Supporting transitions during the school day (e.g. breaktime, lunch, classroom changes)
Maintaining accurate records of progress and behaviours as needed
You don’t need previous school experience to apply — your background may include:
Supporting adults or the elderly with learning disabilities, dementia, or additional needs
Working in care, residential or supported living environments
Experience as a youth worker, carer, or teaching assistant in alternative settings
If you bring strong communication, patience, empathy, and adaptability, you already have the foundation to thrive in this rewarding role.
Availability Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm during term time
A genuine passion for working with children and promoting inclusion
A clear and up-to-date enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply – we can help!)
Willingness to work as part of a wider school team and follow individual plans
Weekly pay – regular and reliable income
Work-life balance – term-time only, with school holidays off
Varied experience – gain insight into different schools and classroom environments
Support from experienced consultants – dedicated to finding you the right fit
Pathway to permanent roles – many long-term placements lead to direct school employment
