Are you passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs? We’re looking for a dedicated Behaviour and Pastoral Mentor to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chichester, working closely with pupils who require additional support to thrive in the classroom.

🏫 About the School:
This inclusive and nurturing primary school supports children with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and emotional and behavioural challenges. The school is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every child can succeed.

💼 The Role:
As a Behaviour and Pastoral Mentor, you’ll provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour strategies. You’ll work closely with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to ensure consistent and compassionate care.

🌟 Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with behavioural and emotional needs through tailored interventions
• Implement and monitor behaviour support plans
• Use positive behaviour strategies to de-escalate challenging situations
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to pupil progress reviews

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children with SEN and behavioural needs
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and behaviour management strategies
• Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant training or qualifications in behaviour support, youth work, or pastoral care (desirable)
• Driver – due to location
