About the Role

Are you passionate about History, Geography or the wider Humanities and eager to inspire young minds? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to join a welcoming secondary school in Brighton as an Unqualified Humanities Teacher. This rewarding opportunity offers both short-term and long-term placements, making it ideal for anyone considering a teaching career or looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive and engaging school environment.

You’ll help deliver thought-provoking Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4, encouraging students to explore the world around them and think critically about historical, geographical and social issues. Working alongside experienced teachers, you’ll play a key role in helping students develop curiosity, understanding and analytical skills.

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver and support engaging Humanities lessons that promote curiosity and critical thinking

• Encourage positive behaviour, participation and academic achievement

• Adapt teaching methods and materials to support a range of learning styles

• Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment

• Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote a love of Humanities subjects

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about Humanities and enthusiastic about working with young people

• Confident, adaptable and proactive within a classroom setting

• Able to build positive and supportive relationships with students and staff

• Committed to helping every learner reach their full potential

• In possession of (or willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
