About the Role

Are you passionate about History, Geography or the wider Humanities and eager to inspire young minds? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and confident individual to join a welcoming secondary school in Lewes as an Unqualified Humanities Teacher. This exciting opportunity offers both short-term and long-term placements, making it perfect for anyone considering a teaching career or seeking to gain valuable classroom experience within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment.

You’ll help deliver engaging and thought-provoking Humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4, encouraging students to explore global issues, historical events and cultural understanding. Working alongside experienced teachers, you’ll play a key role in helping learners think critically, communicate effectively and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.


Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support engaging Humanities lessons that inspire curiosity and critical thinking

  • Encourage positive participation, behaviour and academic achievement

  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit a range of learning styles and abilities

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote a passion for Humanities subjects


About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about Humanities and enthusiastic about working with young people

  • Confident, adaptable and proactive within the classroom environment

  • Able to build positive and supportive relationships with students and staff

  • Dedicated to helping every learner achieve their full potential

  • In possession of (or willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
