You’ll play a key role in maintaining a positive, safe, and calm environment — helping students regulate emotions, move smoothly between classes, and engage positively with learning.
Support students during transitions between classes and around the school
Help de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
Build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Support the smooth flow of the school day and help create a nurturing environment
Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to promote wellbeing and inclusion
Experience or transferable skills from roles such as:
-Youth Mentor –Behaviour Support Assistant -Learning Mentor -Teaching Assistant -Support Worker -Care Assistant -Sports Coach -Youth or Community Worker
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A calm, empathetic, and patient approach
Resilience and the ability to stay composed in challenging moments
A natural ability to guide and motivate young people
Understanding of behaviour management and emotional needs (training provided)
– Location: Hailsham and surrounding areas
– Hours: Full-time and part-time available
– Start: Immediate or flexible start dates
– Pay: Competitive, depending on experience
