💰 Daily Rate: £89 (Pro Rata for Part Time)

👦 Role: 1:1 Support for a Child with Special Educational Needs
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive school community in Heathfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting a child with special educational needs (SEND) to reach their full potential — both academically and emotionally.
You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide dedicated 1:1 support, helping the pupil to engage in learning, build confidence, and develop key life skills. Every day will bring new rewards as you help them overcome challenges and celebrate their successes.
Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs
Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive self-esteem
Adapting learning activities to suit individual needs and abilities
Supporting the development of communication and social interaction skills
Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent progress
We’re looking for someone who is:
Kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs
Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Calm, adaptable, and creative in their approach to support and engagement
Experienced in working with children with SEND (desirable, but not essential — full training provided)
A warm and supportive school environment where every member of staff is valued
