About the Role

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to kick-start your career in education or mental health? This is an incredible opportunity to join a specialist SEMH school supporting children and young people aged 5–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, Autism, and associated challenges.

You’ll work as part of a dedicated team providing learning and pastoral support, helping students develop emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence. This role is perfect for graduates who want hands-on experience before pursuing careers in educational psychology, clinical psychology, or therapeutic interventions.


What You’ll Do

  • Support pupils in class and during interventions, promoting engagement and positive behaviour.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
  • Assist with emotional regulation strategies such as Zones of Regulation and PACE.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff to implement EHCP strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews.

  • A Psychology degree (or related field).
  • Passion for supporting children with SEMH and additional needs.
  • Resilience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
