This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference for children who benefit from additional support to manage emotions, behaviour, and relationships. You’ll work as part of a specialist team that helps pupils re-engage with learning and build positive pathways for the future.

Promote engagement, motivation, and success in learning activities
Record incidents accurately and follow safeguarding and reporting procedures
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral leads, SENCOs, and external professionals
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural challenges (in schools, youth work, or alternative provision)
Be calm, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
Be confident using restorative and relational approaches to behaviour
Be passionate about inclusion and supporting every young person to reach their potential
Work within a supportive and forward-thinking alternative provision team in Brighton & Hove
Access ongoing professional development and specialist SEMH training
Be part of a collaborative, child-centred school community
Make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils who need understanding, consistency, and care
If you are passionate about supporting pupils with SEMH needs and thrive in a positive, flexible, and team-focused environment, we would love to hear from you.
