About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children’s emotional well-being and helping them thrive in school? We are looking for a dedicated Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Worthing. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by helping pupils develop confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide 1:1 and small group emotional literacy interventions
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Help children develop coping strategies for anxiety, stress, and behaviour challenges
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents to create tailored support plans
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records

What We’re Looking For

  • ELSA qualification or experience delivering emotional literacy support
  • Previous experience working in a school setting
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a proactive approach
  • A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
