🌟 Cover Teaching Assistant – Reception, Year 1 & Year 2

Location: Horsham
Hours: 8:45am–3:15pm
Contract: Full‑time, long‑term

A welcoming Infant & Primary School in Horsham is looking for a warm, proactive Cover Teaching Assistant to work across Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 throughout the week. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in varied settings and enjoys supporting multiple classes.


🧸 The Role

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety and loves being involved in different stages of early learning.

Weekly structure:

  • 2 days in Reception – supporting early phonics, play‑based learning & routines
  • 2 days in Year 1 – providing support with the transition from EYFS to KS1
  • 1 day in Year 2 – helping pupils prepare for increased independence and confidence

You will:

  • Support whole‑class learning alongside teachers
  • Assist with small‑group activities and interventions
  • Help maintain a positive, structured classroom environment
  • Provide pastoral and academic support where needed
  • Build positive relationships with staff and pupils across the school

  • Experienced supporting children in EYFS or KS1
  • Adaptable and confident moving between classes
  • Patient, warm, and child‑centred in your approach
  • Able to follow routines while bringing a positive presence into each classroom

  • Reliable, flexible, and organised
