We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in St Leonards who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis from January.
This role involves supporting pupils with additional needs across KS1 and KS2, working both 1:1 and in small groups. The school has a strong SEN provision, a proactive SENCO, and a clear, consistent approach to supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will be calm, patient, and confident supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional needs.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing consistent 1:1 and small-group SEN support
• Supporting engagement, emotional regulation, and confidence
• Implementing strategies set by the SENCO and class teacher
• Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion
• Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
Essential requirements:
• Previous experience in an SEN or support role within a primary setting
• Enhanced DBS
• Up-to-date safeguarding training
Pay: £89 per day, paid weekly
