We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Eastbourne who are looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis.
The role will involve supporting pupils with additional needs across KS1 and KS2, working both 1:1 and in small groups. The school has a strong SENCO presence and places a high value on consistency, structure and positive relationships.
This position would suit a Teaching Assistant who is patient, proactive, and confident supporting pupils with varying needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional needs.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing 1:1 and small-group SEN support
• Supporting learning, engagement and emotional regulation
• Implementing strategies set by the SENCO and class teacher
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion
Requirements for the role:
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Support
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
• Up-to-date safeguarding training
Pay: £89 per day, paid weekly
