We are currently supporting a primary school in Brighton who are seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Reception-aged child with Autism, starting as soon as possible and continuing for the remainder of the academic year.
This is a highly nurturing and hands-on SEND role, supporting a child who:
Has an Autism diagnosis
Is at a pre-verbal stage with significantly delayed language and communication
Engages primarily in sensory-based play
Is not toilet trained
Shows a strong preference for outdoor learning and enjoys activities such as bubble play
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to provide consistent, calm, and responsive support, helping the child feel safe, regulated, and able to access the school environment.
Hours: 12:15pm – 3:15pm (3 hours per day)
Days: Monday to Friday
Start: As soon as possible
Duration: Until the end of the academic year
Previous experience supporting children with Autism and/or SEND
A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach
Confidence supporting sensory needs and outdoor learning
Experience with personal care (desirable but not essential)
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about early years SEND support and making a meaningful difference in a child’s daily school experience.
