Job Title: General Cover Teacher (MAT Cover – 1 Year)
Location: SEMH School, Hailsham Area
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, 1-year maternity cover
Key Stage: KS3

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient General Cover Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in the Hailsham area on a 1-year maternity cover contract.

This is a full-time role, starting ASAP, working primarily with Year 8 pupils. The successful candidate will deliver general cover across a range of subjects, supporting students with additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a structured and nurturing environment.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the curriculum

  • Support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs

  • Establish positive relationships and manage behaviour effectively

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider school team

  • Promote a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • QTS preferred, however unqualified teachers will be considered

  • Essential experience working within SEMH and/or SEND settings

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach

  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
