A primary school in Eastbourne is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism (ASD) and sensory processing needs on a long-term basis.
The pupil benefits from clear routines, visual structure and calm, consistent adult support. The school has a strong SEND framework in place and values staff who are patient, observant and proactive.
1:1 support for a pupil with ASD within the classroom
Using visual timetables, sensory tools and regulation strategies
Supporting transitions and reducing anxiety
Working closely with the SENCO, class teacher and external professionals
Encouraging independence and engagement in learning
Experience supporting ASD and/or sensory needs
Calm, nurturing and consistent approach
Strong understanding of inclusive practice
Commitment to a long-term role
