Individual Needs Assistant (1:1 / 2:1 Support) – Educational Setting

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Individual Needs Assistants (INAs) to provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to students with SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) in primary and secondary school settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to students with SLD in the classroom and during school activities

  • Assist with learning tasks, communication, and daily routines

  • Support students in homework, reading, and other educational activities

  • Facilitate inclusion in social and recreational activities

  • Help maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing environment

What We Need From You:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (SEND experience essential; transferable skills considered)

  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach

  • Ability to adapt to different learning environments and individual student needs

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexibility and reliability

Desirable / Helpful Skills:

  • Experience in previous roles such as teaching assistant, care worker, youth worker, or support worker

  • Knowledge of strategies to support students with SLD or other SEND

  • Experience supporting students on trips, recreational activities, or practical learning
