📌 Role Overview

Position: Class Teacher (Permanent)
Start date: September 2026
Salary: £32,916 – £45,350 (Main to Upper Pay Scale)
Responsible to: Headteacher

You will play a key role in maintaining high standards, delivering excellent teaching and contributing to the ongoing development of the school.


🌟 What You’ll Be Doing

As Class Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Assess and track pupil progress, using assessment intelligently to inform planning
  • Adapt teaching for pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, EAL and higher‑ability learners
  • Create a classroom environment where pupils feel safe, motivated and confident to take risks
  • Prepare pupils for assessments and ensure strong progress across the year
  • Set high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and carers
  • Contribute to whole‑school initiatives, curriculum development and events
  • Provide occasional cover where needed

For Upper Pay Scale teachers, additional responsibilities may include mentoring colleagues, supporting curriculum leadership, or contributing to staff development.

  • Attend meetings, training and appraisal sessions as required

  • Uphold the highest professional and ethical standards
  • Follow safeguarding policies and statutory guidance (including KCSIE and Prevent)
  • Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality and professionalism
  • Share any safeguarding concerns appropriately with the DSL
  • Promote the wellbeing and safety of all pupils

🎯 Who We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Relevant degree
  • Strong primary teaching experience (ECT placements accepted)
  • Secure knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Ability to inspire, engage and motivate children
  • Effective classroom organisation and behaviour management
  • Ability to plan creatively for varied learning needs
  • Commitment to raising attainment and ensuring consistent progress

Desirable:

  • Experience or qualifications in English or Religious Education
  • Ability to contribute to subject leadership in time
  • Strong understanding of assessment, tracking and data use
