A welcoming specialist SEND school in Southampton is seeking a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team supporting pupils with Autism, learning difficulties and additional physical needs.

This is a highly supportive environment where staff work collaboratively to ensure every pupil can access learning in a way that suits them.

The role involves supporting pupils with communication, sensory needs and structured routines, helping them develop independence and confidence.

The role includes:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis

• Working closely with teachers and therapists

• Supporting communication strategies and structured learning

• Assisting with sensory activities and engagement

• Encouraging independence and social interaction

This school is looking for someone who is patient, positive and genuinely passionate about SEND education.

Ideal candidates may have experience in:

• SEND schools

• Autism support

• Care or support work

• Youth work or mentoring

Essential requirements:

• DBS on the Update Service

• Up-to-date safeguarding training

This role is offered on a temp to perm basis, with the school keen to secure someone who wants to become part of their long-term team.
