Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm
We are looking for a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a SEMH specialist school in Worthing. This role involves supporting post-16 pupils, including those with autism and ADHD, working closely with the teacher in Maths, English, and Child Development. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to help students engage with learning and develop their skills in a structured, nurturing environment. This role does not involve significant behaviour management.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting post-16 pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom
Working 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and engagement
Assisting the teacher in Maths, English, and Child Development lessons
Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and independence
Following school policies and safeguarding procedures
Requirements
Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or additional needs
Calm, patient, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to providing inclusive, structured support
