SEN Teaching Assistant – Andover

We are currently working with a specialist SEND school in Andover that supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including moderate learning difficulties, autism and associated communication needs.

The school has a strong focus on creating a calm, structured environment where pupils feel safe and supported. Staff retention is high, and they are looking to bring in a SEN Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis to support increased demand.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be fully involved in the classroom, supporting both the academic and personal development of pupils.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Assisting with differentiated learning activities
  • Helping manage routines and transitions
  • Encouraging independence and engagement

The leadership team are approachable and supportive, and there is a strong team culture across the school.

Role details:

  • Long-term position
  • Full-time and part-time available
  • Immediate start or from May half term
  • £93 per day

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people (SEND preferred)
  • Is patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships
  • Is keen to develop within a SEND setting

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training
