Support Staff – SEMH School (Primary & Secondary)

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference every day? We are seeking committed and resilient Support Staff to work in a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) school supporting both primary and secondary pupils.

This is a full-time, long-term position with an ASAP start.

The Role

You will be supporting pupils who may have:

  • Social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Behavioural challenges
  • Trauma-related backgrounds

Duties include:

  • Supporting students in lessons and daily routines
  • Building strong, positive relationships
  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
  • Encouraging engagement and participation
  • Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Working closely with teachers and support teams
  • Providing a safe and structured learning environment

Skills & Experience

Experience is desirable, but not essential. Transferable skills are strongly considered.

You may have experience in:

  • Care or support work
  • Youth work
  • Mental health support
  • SEN or SEMH settings
  • Coaching or mentoring
