SEN Teaching Assistant – Canterbury

Full-Time | Long-Term Role | SEN School

We are looking for a committed and caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Canterbury on a full-time, long-term basis.

This role is ideal for someone with previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, either within a school setting or through care/support work. You will be working closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, providing day-to-day support to help them access learning and develop both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting pupils with learning, behaviour, and emotional regulation
  • Supporting students with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Helping to create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
  • Working closely with class teachers and the wider SEN team
  • Supporting personal care where required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with SEN students in a school, care, residential, or support setting
  • A calm, patient, and flexible approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students
  • A strong interest in supporting children with additional needs
  • An enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
