Education & Sports Mentor – Alternative Provision

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £102.67 per day
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm

We are currently recruiting for enthusiastic and resilient Education & Sports Mentor to work in an alternative provision setting in Crawley. The role involve supporting children and young people who may have SEN and/or SEMH needs, using a combination of education and sport-based engagement to help improve behaviour, confidence, and learning outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference and can engage young people through positive relationships, structure, and active learning approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils in classroom and alternative learning environments
• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
• Use sport and physical activity to support engagement and behaviour
• Build positive and consistent relationships with young people
• Support emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence building
• Work alongside teaching staff and support teams
• Promote inclusion, engagement, and positive outcomes
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children or young people (SEN/SEMH experience desirable)
• A confident, energetic and resilient approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to engage learners through sport or activity-based methods
• A calm, consistent and supportive manner
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
