SEND Learning Support Assistant – Portsmouth (Long Term / September Start)

We are working closely with a well-established specialist SEND school in Portsmouth that is already planning ahead for September due to increased pupil numbers.

This setting supports pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties. The school is known locally for its structured approach, smaller class sizes and strong support network for staff.

They are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant on a long-term basis, starting either immediately or from September.

This is a highly involved role where you will:

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assist with adapting learning to suit individual needs
• Support behaviour and emotional regulation
• Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils

The school values consistency and is looking for someone who can commit and become part of the team.

Role details:

• Long-term opportunity (potential for permanent contract)
• Full-time and part-time available
• Immediate start or September start
• £93 per day

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people (SEND desirable)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Up-to-date safeguarding training
