SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School, Hastings

Start: ASAP

A supportive secondary school in Hastings is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

This role is flexible and may involve 1:1 support, small group work, or classroom-based support, depending on the needs of the students and the school.

The role:

  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 or group basis
  • Working within the classroom to help students access learning
  • Assisting with engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teachers and the SEN team to support pupil progress

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with children with SEN needs (school, education or care setting)
  • Be patient, resilient and supportive in their approach
  • Have good communication and behaviour management skills
  • Be reliable, caring and committed to supporting young people

This role is well suited to individuals with experience in SEN, education, youth work or care, and those passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Location: Hastings
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time (part-time may be considered depending on availability)
