Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEN Support

🕒 Full‑Time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm
💷 £102 per day (starting rate)

We are working with a welcoming, 2‑form entry primary school in Worthing who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils with Special Educational Needs.

This is a full‑time role within a supportive and inclusive school environment, ideal for an HLTA who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive both academically and emotionally.


🌟 The Role

As the school’s HLTA, you will:

  • Work closely with pupils with SEN, providing targeted 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Support learning across the curriculum, adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Lead and deliver interventions to support progress and development
  • Support teachers with planning, assessment, and classroom delivery where required
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and inclusion
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and support staff
  • Uphold safeguarding and child‑centred best practice at all times

✅ The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds HLTA status or has strong experience operating at HLTA level
  • Has proven experience supporting children with SEN in a primary setting
  • Is calm, patient, and proactive, with excellent communication skills
  • Can confidently lead learning and interventions when required
  • Is committed to inclusive practice and pupil wellbeing
  • Is reliable and keen to be part of a school community
