SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist Primary Setting – Alton – September Start

We are working with a specialist primary setting in the Alton area that is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant from September on a long-term basis.

This is a nurturing environment supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and developmental delays. The school has a strong emphasis on routine, structure, and creating a safe space where pupils can build confidence and re-engage with learning.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils throughout the school day, both within the classroom and on a 1:1 basis.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND across the classroom and in small groups
  • Assisting with communication and engagement strategies
  • Supporting routines, transitions and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff

The school has a supportive leadership team and a collaborative approach to SEND, making it a great environment for someone looking to build long-term experience.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (SEND desirable)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training
