Overview:
Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Chichester in their search for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Mentor to join their team in September. This is a full-time permanent position supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to re-engage positively with learning and school life.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support students 1:1 and in small groups with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
• De-escalate challenging situations using calm, consistent, and professional strategies.
• Support students in reintegrating into mainstream lessons where appropriate.
• Work closely with pastoral, safeguarding, and SEN teams to support student needs.
• Promote positive behaviour strategies, routines, and emotional regulation.
• Support students in developing resilience, confidence, and social skills.
• Assist with monitoring student progress and provide feedback to staff where required.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young people with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Calm, resilient, and confident under pressure.
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
• Patient, empathetic, and consistent approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
