Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant – Waterlooville

Waterlooville | £93–£100 per day | Full-Time | Immediate & September Starts Available

Do you want to be part of a school where every small breakthrough is celebrated?

A specialist school in Waterlooville is seeking a compassionate and committed Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with complex additional needs. The school caters for children and young people with Autism, severe learning difficulties, communication needs and physical disabilities.

This is a highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists and experienced support staff to help students access learning, develop independence and build confidence.

The role will include:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assisting students with communication and interaction
• Working within sensory and therapeutic learning environments
• Supporting students with emotional regulation and routines
• Personal care where required
• Working alongside Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists and specialist teaching staff

Many students are non-verbal and some use wheelchairs, so patience, empathy and a genuine desire to support children with additional needs are essential.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children, care settings or vulnerable individuals
• Is calm, nurturing and resilient
• Can build positive relationships with students
• Is comfortable supporting complex needs and personal care
• Wants to develop a long-term career within SEND education

This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, therapists, psychology graduates or anyone passionate about making a meaningful impact in education.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required (or willingness to obtain one).
