Behaviour Support Assistant – Havant

They need someone who understands why they’re struggling.

A specialist provision in Havant is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.

Many of the students have experienced barriers to education and may present with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD or challenges around emotional regulation. The school is looking for someone who can build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure and provide consistent support.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting students within lessons and around the school
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and remain engaged in learning
• Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
• Promoting positive behaviour and communication strategies
• Providing encouragement, structure and consistency

Ideal backgrounds include:

• Youth work
• Sports coaching
• Residential care
• Mental health support
• SEND support work
• Teaching assistant experience
