The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEND (school or care background)

  • Be patient, caring, and emotionally resilient

  • Be confident supporting non-verbal pupils and using communication tools such as Makaton or PECS (desirable)

  • Be willing to support with personal care tasks

  • Have strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

  • Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

  • Be proactive, adaptable, and supportive in a classroom environment

Experience in special schools, care settings, nurseries, residential care, or support work is highly desirable, but transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs are also welcomed.

The Role:

  • Supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of complex SEND needs

  • Working with non-verbal children using alternative communication methods

  • Supporting pupils with physical disabilities and limited mobility

  • Providing personal care where required

  • Assisting with learning, engagement, and emotional regulation

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff

  • Full-time role: 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • £93 per day

  • Temp to perm opportunity

This is a deeply rewarding role for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with complex needs in a supportive and specialist setting.
