Pink Tile Education is recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist alternative provision in Crawley, supporting young people aged 11–16 years with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands the importance of relationships, patience and consistency when supporting young people who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education. Many pupils have been out of education for a period of time and need a trusted adult who can help them rebuild confidence, develop self-esteem and re-engage with learning.

Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant position.
Based in Crawley.
Supporting young people aged 11–16 years.
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 1:30pm.
£100 per day.
Temp-to-perm opportunity available.
This specialist alternative provision in Crawley supports young people who have struggled to access mainstream education due to a range of emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges.
Pupils may present with:
High levels of anxiety.
Low self-esteem and reduced confidence.
Emotional regulation difficulties.
Challenging behaviour.
School refusal or difficulties engaging with education.
A range of SEMH needs.
Many of the young people attending the provision have been away from education for some time, meaning building trust and positive relationships is essential. Staff focus on creating a safe, supportive environment where pupils feel understood, valued and encouraged to take steps back towards learning.
Support pupils with SEMH needs and emotional regulation difficulties.
Build strong, positive relationships with young people who may have lost confidence in education.
Encourage pupils to engage with learning and activities at their own pace.
Provide reassurance and support during moments of anxiety or emotional dysregulation.
Use a calm, consistent and nurturing approach to behaviour support.
Help pupils develop confidence, independence and resilience.
Work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide personalised support.
Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, mental health needs or challenging behaviour.
Can build strong rapport and meaningful relationships with young people.
Is patient, understanding and able to see the individual behind the behaviour.
Has a calm approach and can support pupils through moments of emotional dysregulation.
Is confident working with young people who may display refusal, avoidance or anxiety around education.
Has experience in education, youth work, care, mentoring or similar settings (desirable).
Is looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant role in Crawley.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
