Pink Tile Education is recruiting for a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Burgess Hill, supporting pupils aged 2–19 years with Autism and a range of associated needs.

Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 4:00pm.
£14.25 per hour (£111.99 per day).

This specialist SEND school in Burgess Hill supports children and young people aged 2–19 years with a variety of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), communication difficulties, sensory needs and complex learning needs.
The school recognises that every autistic pupil is an individual, and staff focus on understanding each child’s communication style, preferences and needs. Some pupils may benefit from sensory-based learning, visual timetables and structured routines, while others may require additional support with emotional regulation, communication and independence.
Classes are small, with dedicated teachers and Teaching Assistants working closely together to create a calm, predictable and supportive learning environment.
Support autistic children and young people throughout the school day.
Help pupils access learning through personalised activities and structured support.
Use visual supports, symbols, communication strategies and sensory approaches to encourage engagement.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Support children with communication differences, including non-verbal pupils where required.
Help pupils develop independence, confidence and social skills.
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
Work closely with teachers, therapists and fellow Learning Support Assistants to provide consistent support.
Has experience supporting children or young people with Autism (ASC).
Understands the importance of routine, consistency and clear communication.
Has experience working with SEND pupils in an education, care or support setting.
Is patient, calm and adaptable.
Can recognise individual needs and respond with empathy.
Has experience using Makaton, PECS, symbols, visual timetables or alternative communication methods (desirable).
Is confident supporting pupils with sensory needs or behaviours linked to communication difficulties.
Is looking for a rewarding Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant role in Burgess Hill.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
