Are you looking for a rewarding role supporting children with additional needs in Portsmouth? Our inclusive and welcoming school in Portsmouth is seeking a dedicated SEND Intervention Practitioner to join our team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school community in Portsmouth where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Working closely with teachers and the SEND team, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted support to pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small group basis.
  • Support the implementation of individual learning plans and interventions.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
  • Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEND professionals.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress where required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people.
  • A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and positive outcomes for pupils.
  • Experience supporting SEND pupils is desirable but not essential.
