Overview

Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Horsham in their search for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join their team.

The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging and purposeful lessons that inspire students and support their academic progress.

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Create engaging and differentiated learning experiences that meet the needs of all students.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
  • Support students in developing their scientific knowledge, practical skills, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations through structured teaching and appropriate revision strategies.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to support students with varying abilities and additional learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the wider school.
  • Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, professional development, and wider school life.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and carers regarding student progress and wellbeing.
  • Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Science Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.
  • Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science.
  • Has excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Is committed to supporting students’ academic progress, confidence, and wellbeing.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
