Contract: Day-to-Day, Temporary, Short-Term, Long-Term and Permanent Opportunities Available
Typical Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm, 8:00am–4:00pm or 8:15am–3:15pm, depending on the school
Pay: £14.25–£16.25 per hour, dependent on experience

Pink Tile Education is supporting secondary schools across Brighton with opportunities for caring, resilient, and committed Youth Workers / Behavioural Support Mentors to join their teams.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome challenges, build confidence, develop positive relationships, and reach their potential.

You will play an important role in supporting students who may require additional guidance with their behaviour, emotional regulation, social development, and engagement with education.

The Role

As a Youth Worker / Behavioural Support Mentor, you will:

• Build positive, trusting, and professional relationships with students.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students.
• Support students with emotional regulation, confidence, and personal development.
• Help students understand and manage their behaviour in a positive way.
• Encourage positive choices, independence, resilience, and self-belief.
• Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques where appropriate.
• Support students to engage positively with their learning and school environment.
• Help students develop their communication and social skills.
• Identify triggers and patterns in behaviour and provide appropriate support.
• Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and other members of the school team.
• Maintain a calm, consistent, and supportive approach when working with challenging behaviour.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment.

• Calm and consistent when supporting challenging behaviour.
• A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Able to encourage positive choices and promote independence.
• Reliable, adaptable, and willing to work flexibly across different school environments.
• Previous experience in youth work, mentoring, coaching, education, care, behaviour support, or a similar setting is desirable but not essential.
• Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
