We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Horsham, supporting young people with additional needs in a welcoming and well-resourced environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to develop their confidence, communication, independence and learning skills.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and pupils to provide individualised support throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting pupils with their learning and development
Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
Helping pupils engage with classroom activities
Supporting communication, social development and independence
Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Supporting pupils with additional needs and adapting your approach to suit individual needs
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff
Helping to create a positive, calm and inclusive learning environment
Supporting pupils’ wellbeing and emotional regulation
We are looking for someone who is:
Caring, patient and approachable
Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
Able to build strong and positive relationships with pupils
Confident working as part of a wider team
Adaptable and willing to learn
Calm and consistent in their approach
Previous experience within a school, SEND setting, care or support environment is desirable
