Learning Support Assistant – Autism Specialist School

Location: Just outside Burgess Hill
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
Pay: £102.68 per day
Contract: Temp to Perm – 12 working weeks through Pink Tile Education, followed by a permanent position with the school

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a beautiful specialist school just outside Burgess Hill, supporting secondary-aged pupils with Autism.

The school offers a fantastic learning environment with excellent facilities designed specifically around the needs of its pupils. Staff are well supported, and there is a real focus on helping every young person develop their confidence, independence and life skills.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils throughout the school day, providing tailored support with learning, communication, social development and emotional regulation. You will help create a positive, structured and engaging environment where pupils can thrive.

About You

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with Autism is essential

  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach

  • Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Confident supporting individual needs and adapting your approach

  • Passionate about helping young people develop their independence and confidence

  • Previous experience in a school, specialist setting, care or support environment is desirable
