Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people?

We are recruiting for a welcoming and supportive specialist school in Portsmouth that caters for pupils with a range of additional learning needs. The school provides a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally.

In this role, you will support children with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and learning difficulties. You’ll work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and engaging learning experience.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Assisting with learning activities tailored to individual needs
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and social interaction
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Patient, resilient and caring nature
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • Passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Team player with a positive attitude
