The Role

As an English Teacher, you’ll be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible English lessons while supporting the individual needs of your pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging English lessons.
• Adapting lessons to meet a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Supporting pupils to develop their literacy, communication and confidence.
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Promoting positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
• Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team.
• Tracking pupil progress and contributing to their individual development.

We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
• A strong knowledge of the English curriculum.
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.
• Experience working with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs would be beneficial.
