Are you a passionate Teacher with experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

A specialist SEMH school in Thetford is looking for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teacher to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting young people who may have experienced barriers to education and helping them build confidence, resilience and positive relationships.

The Role

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons.
• Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Create a calm, safe and nurturing classroom environment.
• Encourage engagement, confidence and independence.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team.
• Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• A qualified Teacher with QTS.
• Experienced working with SEMH, SEN or challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient, resilient and consistent in their approach.
• Confident managing behaviour and supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Skilled at building strong and trusting relationships with young people.
• Adaptable and able to tailor lessons to individual needs.
• Passionate about making a genuine difference to young people’s lives.

Previous experience within a specialist SEMH, SEND or Alternative Provision setting would be highly beneficial.
