A specialist school in Beverley is looking for a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting pupils’ learning, behaviour and development while working closely with teachers and the wider school team.
The Role
As an HLTA, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across the school.
- Lead lessons and learning activities when required.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
- Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning activities.
- Support pupils’ progress, confidence and independence.
- Promote positive behaviour and help manage challenging situations.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Support the wider school team with day-to-day classroom responsibilities.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- An experienced HLTA, Senior Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor or Unqualified Teacher.
- Confident leading lessons and managing a classroom.
- Able to support pupils with a range of learning and behavioural needs.
- Calm, patient and resilient.
- Strong at building positive relationships with pupils.
- Organised, reliable and able to work independently.
- Passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers and reach their potential.
Previous experience within SEN, SEND, SEMH or specialist education would be beneficial but is not essential.
